Epson Taiwan recently teamed up with acclaimed Taiwanese fashion designer Isabelle Wen to create her latest collection ‘Return to Forever – Islands of her Heart’, which was kicked off during the 2015 Taipei IN Style Autumn/Winter week in November 2015.
Isabelle Wen launched 70 sets of couture clothing at her fashion show, with 15 pieces printed by Epson’s digital textile printers powered by its PrecisionCore technology, capturing her elegant and bohemian style in print. The collection is inspired by the natural elements of Taiwan islands.
“As a designer, seeing my original designs printed in its full colours on fabric inspired me to use draping techniques to design my outfits. Having travelled the world and returned to Taiwan, I was inspired by the north coast harbours of Taiwan, the blue of shining ‘blue tear’ jelly fish, the earthy colours of rocks from Yeh Liu – these have appeared in various forms on the fabric to complete my collection,” said Ms Wen.
Ms Wen added, “In the past, we had to order materials 10 months in advance, and you would never know what was going to happen during those 10 months. Now, digital printing on textile makes it possible to design more freely.”
“The collaboration with Isabelle Wen has showcased Epson’s technology in evocating texture in fashion fabric. Epson’s latest technology, PrecisionCore, with its vivid colour reproduction, can inspire designers in their designs and to be unfettered in their creativity. Epson Taiwan aims to be a global leader in digital textile printing, to lead designers and the textile industry in the digital technology revolution,” said Victor Chen, Epson Taiwan Vice President and General Manager, Industry Solution Business Unit.
